I’m especially proud to have a great little broadside included as part of the inaugural issue of REASON TATTERS from DEAD PRINCE BOOKS. The new poetry magazine is coming out of the blocks strong, chock-full of familiar names that small press fans will know well. And all that poetic goodness will be wrapped up in handmade, marbled end pages and a sewn binding — so, once agin some o the beautiful things small presses can do! The tidy print run makes the handmade stuff possible — but it also means that getting a copy sooner rather than later is the best way to make sure you won’t miss out.

If you know us, you know we love ambitious projects here at the HQ! From 17 years writing PSALMS, to a decade+ plan to turn the massive THIRST/AUDIO into ANIMATED DRUNK POEMS — we whole-heartedly support oversized dreams and taking big swings. And this gorgeous anthology of NM POETRY is one such project.

In fact, Casa Urraca has put together one of the prettiest and most substantial NM-based projects in recent memory. The design is velvet-smooth and the words are weighty and rewarding. The suggested reading experience calls for a poem-a-day — though chances are good you’ll rip it through once before doing so. I’m glad to be part of the whole enchilada.

There’s a reading at the Santa Fe Library on Saturday, September 26th and I’ll be at Libros of Enchantment at the end of October — maybe elsewhere — and happy to sign my poem in your copy if you’d like!

If you’re anywhere nearby, pop on in for my first-ever Santa Fe area event!

There will be readings and typewriters and poetic fun from a couple of fellow poets — and of course I’m bringing the DrunkSkull Sidewalk Cinema to show off some project-specific multimedia and celebrates just a little of what I adore about the small press! I’ll also have copies of at least a few books — and I’m happy to scribble a little something in it if you’d like!

And the space itself is filled with local art of all kinds, with a particular focus on recycled artwork — inventive reconfigurations of things abandoned or ignored — made new and gorgeous once more! If you’re after something unique and one-of-a-kind, well you’d be hard-pressed to find a better spot to shop! Here’s to hoping you pop in for something a little different in the City Different!
