This bad boy should hit the shelves sometime in late summer or early fall — and I am really jazzed to be printed alongside my nibbling, X.E. Oaks! Only UNM’s Daily Lobo and now this anthology from Casa Urraca can claim that fame (so far)!
From the announcement:
A Year of New Mexico Poetry presents a poem a day, celebrating the people, cultures, communities, landscapes, and traditions of the Land of Enchantment. This thoughtful, uplifting collection evokes the range of New Mexican life, from the poignant to the playful and from the historical to the contemporary.
If you don’t know Casa Urraca — they are absolutely worth a look — churning out NM Book Awards honorees and making a splash all over the state and the southwest. And they have good taste — selecting one of my absolute favorites for this collection. So — if a big, fat book of poems (maybe one a day?) is on your wishlist, then you could do a lot worse than checking out A YEAR OF NEW MEXICO POETRY.
