I met Bastien in New Orleans in 1997. He was fresh off a days-long bus ride and he clearly needed some sleep. Instead, we went on a Bourbon Street bender — so, obviously, the friendship was forged in fire from the get-go!

He looks back on both a poem and the memory along the shores of Lake Geneva.
